Start Your Snowflake Journey

This course prepares you to earn the SnowPro Associate: Platform Certification (SOL-C01) by validating your ability to architect and manage core Snowflake workloads. You will master the platform’s cloud-native architecture, efficiently load and transform data using virtual warehouses, and implement robust identity and access controls. The curriculum also covers data protection and secure data sharing, ensuring you can confidently operate as a Snowflake administrator or data engineer. Last updated: June 9, 2025.

Exam Domains & Objectives

  • 1. Interacting with Snowflake and the Architecture (35%): Master the interaction with Snowflake's architecture by configuring elastic compute and storage layers, and performing data loading using Snowsight worksheets for SQL and Python.
  • 2. Identity and Data Access Management (15%): Master Snowflake Identity and Data Access Management by implementing Role-Based Access Control with role hierarchies, assigning privileges to database objects, and querying the INFORMATION_SCHEMA for access governance.
  • 3. Data Loading and Virtual Warehouses (40%): Master loading structured and semi-structured data into Snowflake stages using COPY INTO and INSERT commands, and querying that data efficiently within virtual warehouses.
  • 4. Data Protection and Data Sharing (10%): Master implementing Time Travel and cloning for data recovery, and configure private data sharing via the Snowflake Marketplace or Data Exchange.

Recommended Prerequisites

  • Familiarity with basic Snowflake UI navigation (Snowsight)
  • Understanding of database fundamentals (tables, schemas, databases)
